32nd National All Martial Arts Championship
This event is the only Traditional Martial Arts Tournament of it's kind in the World!

"Thank you to all of the martial arts schools, instructors, students and parents" were the words expressed by Choong Jae Nim Master Chun Sik Kim, 32nd National All Martial Arts Championship Chairman.

The 32nd National All Martial Arts Championship was held on May 6, 2006. It was the most exciting event so far this year for all members of the C. S. Kim Karate schools and the traditional martial arts community. This annual event highlighted 1170 national and international competitors from all styles of martial arts competing in forms, sparring, breaking and weapons. Over 1200 trophies were awarded to the winners in their respective divisions.

This year in addition to all divisions last year, we werehappy to add a special division for Japanese styles in forms competition. Black belts who placed first in their division were eligible to compete for Grand Champion as appropriate.

The traditional opening ceremony featured an inspiring speech by Choong Jae Nim Master C. S. Kim thanking all of the participants for their attendance. Choong Jae Nim C. S. Kim also gave words of wisdom to all in attendance as he emphasized the importance of demonstrating a positive mental attitude and professional discipline by their actions and attitude.

 

2006 32nd NATIONAL ALL MARTIAL ARTS CHAMPIONSHIP MARTIAL ARTIST OF THE YEAR

2006 Martial Artists of the Years were awarded. Master Moon Park and Master Martin Carson both received this prestigious award which si given to instructors who have demonstratee outstanding commitment and dedication to the growth and preservation of the traditional martial arts. Both of these Masters were nominated by instructors and students who have recognized the tremendous impact these Master Instructors have made in the martial arts community. Master Martin Carson is a perfect example of the spirit and dedication to excellence in the martial arts. Having trained over 33 years, he has practiced and instsructed the last 15 years although he is totally with out sight, having lost his vision in an automobile accident. This is an amazing demonstration of spirit and an inspiration to all of us.

Black Belt forms competition began the elimination process. All students watched as masters, instructors and black belts from around the world demonstrated traditional forms with exceptional proficiency. This was followed by adult and children (under black belt) forms and breaking competition. Sparring for all division as well as exciting weapons competition thrilled the spectators as the eliminations continued and the competitors for Grand Championship competition were decided. The competition was very intense but all competitors showed wonderful spirit throughout the day.
