Congratulations
everyone who participated in the
29th
National All Martial Arts Championship!
This
event is the only Traditional Martial Arts Tournament of it's kind
in the World!
Saturday,
May 3, 2003.
The
29th National All Martial Arts Championship held on May 3, 2003
at the University of Pittsburgh, Fitzgerald Fieldhouse was a great
success! Choong Jae Nim Master C. S. Kim wishes to express his thanks
and appreciation to all Masters and Instructors for their continued
support and dedication who worked hard to make this a special day
for everyone.
The day began
with opening ceremonies at 9:00 a.m. with the American National
Anthem and the Korean National Anthem. Red, white and blue balloons
were then released. Choong Jae Nim Master C. S. Kim welcomed all
competitors and spectators and wished everyone good luck. Grand
Masters from around the country were introduced. Presentation of
the Martial Artist of the Year was awarded to Master Marion
Gregor, 5th Dan and full-time instructor at C. S. Kim Karate
School in Greentree, PA.
Eliminations
followed opening ceremonies beginning with black belt forms. Later
in the day many Masters and instructors provided a spectacular demonstration
of forms, self-defense and breaking.
Concluding
the day was the final matches and award of 6 grand champions:
Junior Boys Forms -
Mr. Josh Martin, Master Collins Tang Soo Do, Riverview, MI
Junior Girls Forms -
Ms. Morgan Lee (C. S. Kim Karate, Greentree, PA)
Men's Sparring - Mr. Nathan Due (C. S. Kim Karate, Bloomfield,
PA)
Women's Sparring - Ms. Jill Gorsky, East Coast Karate
Men's Forms - Master Marcus Murtaugh (C. S. Kim Karate, Moon
Township, PA)
Women's Forms - Ms. Huyen Tue-Dao, AMAC, Annapolis, MD

to all winners and to all competitors for a job well done!!!!
Plans have already begun for next year's championship - our 30th
year - to be held on Saturday, May 1, 2004. Mark your calendars
for this special anniversary year celebration!!!
