10TH WORLD
CHAMPIONSHIP
|
|
Dear All International Tang Soo Do Federation
Members:
|
| CONGRATULATIONS to everyone who participated
or attended our 10th World Championship. I am very proud of
all of you - instructors, students and parents. As I said in
my speech at the beginning of the 10th World Championship Tournament,
I always consider the suggestions offered to me by our members.
Your suggestions made this Championship a wonderful experience
for everyone. I have held over 60 championships all over the
world but this one was very challenging to me and caused more
worry than all of the others. In the end it was one of the most
successful. |
| |
| I would like to thank all of the Sa Bom Nims and Instructors
who helped to put these events together as well as those who
adminstered the running and planning of everything. Without
all of your hard work and dedication, we could not have achieved
this success. To all of our sponsors, your support is deeply
appreciated. To all of the competitors, your spirit and attitude
made all of the days events enjoyable. My thanks also to all
of the Sa Bom Nims, Kyo Sa Nims and Instructors for encouraging
your students to attend the Championship and for the hard work
you did preparing your students. My special thanks also to the
Wyndham Orlando Resort staff for their cooperation and support
in working with the Tournament Committee to bring this all together.
My thanks especially to Master Chris DuFour, his wife and the
Pensacola Tang Soo Do School for their extra, extra effort and
hard work. |
| |
| A special thank you to Master Joe Bruno, Master Marcus Murtaugh
and Master Dean Kelly for their help in running the events.
Another special thank you to Master Pat Leach, Master Marion
Gregor, Susan Kim, Thomas Kim and Master Y. D. Kim for putting
all of the paperwork together and for their efforts in registering
everyone for the events. |
| |
| With the Masters Seminar, Judge & Referee Clinic, Color
Belt Seminars, Teams Matches, all day competitions and Black
Belt test, it was an exhausting four days.I am sure that all
instructors have had the time to "recharge their batteries"
and that you are back to your normal classes. I believe that
everyone who participated in these events are winners and I
encourage everyone to continue to practice and work hard. When
you win, it's easy to be a good sport. I have received many
phone calls, letters and emails from students who did not place.
They told me what a wonderful time they had, how much they enjoyed
all of the events and especially for the opportunity to learn
together. Many people told me that they have made many good
friends. Even though we cannot always communicate with each
other because of our language differences, we are always able
to practice traditional Tang Soo Do together because we are
of one heart. When I hear these things from our members, I feel
proud to be able to make the International Tang Soo Do Federation
10th World Championship a wonderful reward for all of you. |
| |
| Many students - and you are all my students - commented on
how much they learned throughout the Championship. I know some
mistakes were made but that is how we learn. |
| |
| I would not trade the experiences of this Championship
for anything. Again I thank all involved and congratulate you
on a wonderful and successful 10th World Championship. I appreciate
your continued support of the International Tang Soo Do Federation.
Please continue to offer me your suggestions. |
| |
| Thank You All! |

The International Tang
Soo Do Federation is excited to announce the implementation
of the the International Tang Soo Do Federation Hall of Fame.
This is the first year a member of the organization was inducted
into the HALL OF FAME. The winner of this prestigious
honor was presented to MASTER JAMES DAVIS. Master Davis is
the Chief Instructor of "The Karate School" located in
Humble, Texas. He was injured in an accident several months ago.
However, that did not discourage him and he has shown tremendous
strength and spirit in Tang Soo Do. SPECIAL RECOGNITION is
also given to his wife, MRS. JENNIFER DAVIS. She was unwavering
in her efforts to support her husband and their school during this
particularly difficult time. TANG SOO!
